Mount Amiata has a majestic conical shape. A solitary central massif, it is the highest mountain in Tuscany and dominates the surrounding valleys: the Val d’Orcia, the Maremma, the Chianti and Lake Bolsena. As well as being an area steeped in history and legends, it also offers a breathtaking view from the top. Its peak, enveloped in an air of mysticism, is home to dense beech and chestnut woods, whose fruits have fed animals and local populations for centuries. This is the very reason the mountain’s inhabitants see it as a Mother figure. For many years, chestnuts from Mount Amiata have been a source of sustenance for the local economy, influencing habits, customs and traditions. They are also registered as a product with protected denomination of origin.

castagna is known for its extraordinary nutritional properties. The composition of castagna includes minerals such as sodium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper and manganese, and vitamins: A, B1, B2, B3 (or PP), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6, B9 (folic acid) and vitamin C.

castagna has a high nutritional value and little-known cosmetic virtues: the vitamins and mineral salts it contains help tissue regeneration, promote skin hydration and regulate sebum.

PERFUME FEATURES

It is like immersing oneself in a delicious caress with a smoky touch, reminiscent of the heady scent of roasted chestnuts. A creamy, woody fragrance that opens with a citrus note of bergamot, while softening at its core with accents of maple syrup and chestnut accord. The base is enveloped in a light woody and smoky scent of full-bodied vetiver, vanilla, guaiac wood, sandalwood and musk.

Our formulas

All the products in the Castagna line are enriched with wheat germ oil, ceramide 3 and chestnut extract for significant nourishing, restoring and toning action. They are free from parabens, mineral oils and dyes.

The cleanser is primarily plant-based and free from parabens, SLES/SLS and mineral oils. The moisturisers are full-bodied emulsions based on shea butter to hydrate the skin deep down. They are free from parabens, mineral oils and dyes.
